 About The Artist

Christina Barringer was born and raised in South Florida. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marine Biology at Florida International University in Miami and a graduate certificate in Coastal Studies at Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center. Christina also earned a clinical masters of science degree in speech-language pathology at Albizu University. Christina has let her passion take her around the world. During her college years she studied abroad in Mexico, Australia, Belize, and interned in South Africa researching Great White sharks. She has been diving since 2007 and holds a PADI Divemaster certification. Christina’s metal prints have been featured in local art galleries and was awarded "Best of Photography 2018" by the mayor at the Pembroke Pines art competition for her image "Gator Gaze.” Christina also placed 2nd in the portrait category of the prestigious Ocean Art 2018 competition for her image "Croc in the Mist." She has been a guest speaker on the topic of her underwater adventures, a featured underwater photographer on DivePhotoGuide.com, and interviewed on SCUBA Radio. Currently, she is also pursuing a career as a speech therapist. While traveling and diving she puts her heart and soul into capturing the beauty of the underwater world with the goal of creating awareness and promoting conservation. She is delighted to share these mesmerizing images with the world.
